Veteran iconic Iranian actor Ali Nasiriyan is to announce launching message of Iran’s National Theater Day falling on March 27, 2017.

The National Theater Day will be celebrated by performing theater plays and different artistic activities all over the country.

Born February 4, 1935 in Tehran, Ali Nasiriyan began his acting career with theater in 1952.

He made his cinematic debut with ‘The Cow’ (1969), setting foot on the path to becoming one of the most renowned and popular Iranian actors.

He has appeared in numerous movies and series. Among his most notable performances are in the movies ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ (1983), ‘Mirza Nowruz's Shoes’ (1985), ‘Captain Khorshid’ (1986), ‘Scent of Joseph’s Shirt’ (1995), ‘The Silent King’ (2003), 'Saturday Hunter' (2011), and 'Iran Burger' (2014).

He also played roles in the series 'Sarbedaran’ (1984), ‘Hezar Dastan’ (1979-1987), 'The Wolves' (1986-1987), 'The Lost Paradise' (1996), 'Neighbors' (2000), 'Lighter than Darkness' (1999-2002), 'Floating in a Bubble' (2006), ‘The Forbidden Fruit’ (2007), 'Sheikh Baha'ee' (2003-2008), 'Mankind's Land' (2009), and 'Sparrow's Dream' (2012).

He won a prize for writing the play ‘Nightingale in Love’ in 1957.       

In 2002, Nasiriyan was honored as an 'Iranian National Treasure' in Theater and Film.
